R.I.P. The Great Movie Character Actor Bill McKinney

Although best known for ordering his victim to “Squeal like a pig” in DELIVERANCE — for which MAXIM Magazine named him the Top Villain of All Time — actor Bill McKinney had a long, great career from an early appearance on THE MONKEES all the way to BACK TO THE FUTURE 3 and THE GREEN MILE, with roles opposite Clint Eastwood (in 7 films!), Sylvester Stallone, and John Wayne.

I prefer to remember him as the diabolical, double-crossing Union officer “Red Legs” Terrell in THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES, in which he relentlessly pursues Clint Eastwood from the beginning until the end of the movie.
